"Jekyll" garden brief: The client who owns this garden on the South coast wanted a mixed garden design, with formal and informal areas. The finished garden requires low to medium upkeep.

	This view shows the installation of the "rill" water feature. The ridges on the sides were filled in to form a footpath (see below). Prior to this, the garden was just a lawn.
	Finished garden as seen from the house. A row of newly planted ornamental crabapple trees, underplanted with box topiary and herbaceous plants, frames the view to the arbour.
	View from the end of the garden. The water feature elongates the garden, and gives the impression of more space.
